Orders are shipped on business days only, excluding Federal holidays within the United States. Business days are Monday through Friday.
Orders are shipped the business day following approval of your payment. If you want to request that your order be shipped the same day it is placed, please contact our Sales Department . Our ability to ship orders the same day is dependent on numerous factors, such as the time the order is placed, volume of orders scheduled to ship that day, and availability of stock. If you are approved for same-day shipping and your order was placed after 1600 (4PM) Eastern Time (UTC/GMT -5), a $10 rush order charge will be added to your order total.
The initial shipment for any subscription you order will be sent via the shipping method you select. The shipping methods available vary according to the location to which the package will be delivered. Each shipping method has different restrictions and policies, which are determined by the shipping company itself. They each have different charges, which will be applied to your order. The charges are calculated based on the ship method, total weight of the package, and the location to which it is being shipped. When you place an order on our website, your total charges, including shipping, will compute during checkout prior to the completion of your order.
After the initial shipment is sent, Avantext’s standard shipping method for all subscription updates is first-class mail or first-class international mail, unless you can provide an account number with a commercial shipper that we can charge for all shipments.
The only shipping methods available for addresses containing a PO Box are United States Postal Service (USPS) first-class mail or Priority Mail. Express delivery is not available. If you require express delivery, you must provide a street address.
Avantext does not guarantee delivery times for any shipment. If you select a commercial shipping company, such as UPS or Fedex, as your shipping method, any delivery guarantees made by them are the responsibility of that company. You can estimate delivery times by viewing the times listed for the shipping method you select on that shipping company’s website. If you are using this type of shipping service and provide us with your email address, we will send you an email listing the tracking information. That email will be sent when the package is shipped. Using the tracking number in the email, you can view the delivery status of your item. Packages shipped via USPS are not trackable.
Our standard subscription fees cover shipping of subscription updates via USPS first-class or first-class international mail. The time from shipping to delivery varies widely, depending on location, the time of year, events that impact postal deliveries, customs processes and many other factors. The estimated delivery time for first-class international mail is 8-22 business days. Avantext cannot accept responsibility for the variable delivery timeframes of the postal system. If you must receive your subscription updates within a specific timeframe, we recommend that you elect to have them shipped via a trackable shipping method such as UPS or Fedex. You may do so by providing contacting a sales representative to provide us with your account number with the carrier of your choice. Your shipments will then be billed to that account. Handling fees will apply for each shipment.
Shipping Schedule for Subscription Updates
Updates to the AD product are shipped every other Tuesday (the Tuesday after the effective date listed on the disc). Updates to TechPubs are shipped quarterly, on or before the 12th of the release month. In general, these updates ship between the 15th and 18th of each month.
Duties and Taxes
Packages shipped internationally may be subject to customs fees, taxes or import duties applied by the country to which the order is shipped. These charges, which vary by country, are the responsibility of the recipient of the order. Contact your local customs office for more information. Please note that delivery of shipments may be delayed by customs duties and local postal requirements.
New orders for multiple products will be combined into one shipment. If an item is not in stock, the shipment will be held until all items in the order are available, usually no more than one or two business days.
Since the subscription-update schedules for different product lines vary, update shipments will not be combined across product lines. Within a product line, such as orders of different Techpubs discs, shipments will be combined for updates shipping in the same release month.
